A group of our pupils visited Airbus with our DT staff and Apprenticeship Ambassador. Students had a professional briefing of health and safety while visiting the factory, an overview of what airbus is famous for and its history. Students were given tours by a post graduate and a current degree apprentice who shared their experiences at airbus. During the tours students saw each stage of the process of building the wings of planes, including the work of people and electro impact robots. At each station students got to watch interactive plans of the design and structure of each part of the Wing building. Many students asked questions about the materials and process linking the trip to their DT curriculum. Students had a debrief and discussion about the apprenticeship's airbus offer in a range of departments. The Airbus representatives were very impressed with how well behaved they were and how willing they were to ask them questions.
