'To help young people help themselves'

National Careers Week (NCW) is a celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK. The aim is to provide a focus for careers guidance activity at an important stage in the academic calendar to help support young people leaving education.

Throughout the week pupils will be taking part in activities focussed around the link between curriculum subjects an careers and "I want to be".

We will be sharing information and ideas with pupils and and parents all week via this website, School social media and email.

Here are just a few of the resources that we will be using.

Pupils at Adelaide Link have kicked off National Careers Week 2022 with a flurry of activity. They completed some word searches on various careers. They then completed an activity looking at the careers that each subject could lead to and created mind maps of the results. They used the National Careers Service to complete either a skills assessment or look at a job area of interest and create a word document or power point on their chosen job including the skills required to do that job, what the day to day tasks would be and career progression. Some pupils also matched buzz words from CVs to their descriptions.

Adelaide Link Staff member Mr Beale used to work in Warehousing and created this presentation for pupils for National Careers Week.
