Adelaide Shows Support for St Luke's Hospice
During the Covid-19 Pandemic St Lukes Hospice have been struggling and appealed for support in the media. We donated £100 that we raised from staff Dress Down Fridays and Wacky Tacky Day.
Here is the response that we received from the Charity:
Tuesday 14th April 2020
To all the wonderful, Pupils, Parents and Staff of Adelaide School
Thank you very much for the wonderful donation of £100 we have received. I believe that a great deal of fundraising went on at school before the lockdown and we are very grateful to every single one of you for your support.
I am sure you are all missing the company of your friends and colleagues and school life, these are very difficult times for everyone and especially for charities such as ourselves who rely so heavily local fundraising. Your kindness in sending this donation is very much appreciated and will enable us to continue offering Hospice care to our patients and their families when they need us most. The Hospice offices are closed, but our In-Care Unit continues to look after our patients, and with your donation will continue to do so.
As you may know we rely heavily on the support of our community and we are continually amazed by the generosity from some very special people. With your help we will continue to provide the highest standards of love and care for those in need of our services. This includes not only adults but children who receive specialist counselling and support through our Phoenix Club. When the lockdown is over, I would love an opportunity to come and speak to you all, perhaps at an assembly, about the type of work we do and how you have helped to support it. Your school has supported us in many ways and it would be great to have a chance to thank you all in person. Please do contact me when life returns to normal, I would be happy to come along.
Please pass on our heartfelt thanks to everyone who worked so hard to raise such an amazing amount for our Hospice. Please take care and stay safe.
With best wishes
