Army Officer Scholarships
Army Officer Scholarship Scheme
The Army Officer Scholarship Scheme guarantees your child up to £10,000 in financial support, starting in Academic Year 13. It also guarantees your child a place at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and a career as an Army Officer when your child finishes education.
Your child will receive £3,000 while they are in Year 13, then a Standard Bursary of £6,000 while they’re studying at university (£7,000 for a 4-year degree). Your child must have at least 40 ALIS points from GCSEs or 37 ALIS points from Scottish National Qualifications.
Army Scholars can apply to join any Corps for which they are eligible. Your child does not have to make a final decision about which Regiment or Corps they want to join until they’re at Sandhurst, unless they’re thinking about joining as a Professionally Qualified Officer, such as a Doctor, Dentist or Lawyer.
If your child is aged 16 or 17 they will need to apply online before March of Year 12. They will then attend the Army Scholarship board in June or July before they turn 18. This qualifies your child for a commission in the Army and allows your child to apply for additional bursaries.
