'To help young people help themselves'

Mental health is more than the absence of mental disorders. Mental health is an integral part of health; indeed, there is no health without mental health.30 Mar 2018 World Health Organisation.

This Zone is to promote mental well-being as well as signposting you to resources should you need help with a mental health issue.

Just as it is vital to keep ourselves physically well it is important to maintain a good mental health. Your mental health is all about how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours link to each other and how we cope with everyday life, sometimes people are diagnosed with mental health issues. There will be some information about some common mental illnesses here too.

Sometimes we can cope with what life throws our way without a second thought and other times we feel under pressure and not able to cope. You will find things here to help you to understand how to look after your mental health better as well as links to external organisations if you or a member of your family is diagnosed with a mental illness.

There should be no stigma to having a mental health diagnosis.
